Parfum

''When all the laces are undone, when all the petticoats have fallen, the woman is dressed only in her perfume''.- Jean-Paul Guerlain

Finally, the perfume post I promised. This week has been really busy (I'm lying here, it wasn't busy at all, I was just prancing around the internet doing nothing as usual).

But let me share my realisation with you. I realised that I needed one perfume, and not the five or six bottles that I wear whenever I feel the need. I need a single scent to apply in the morning, every morning. Then I can just bask in this one scent all the time and feel like a French woman. And if my life was a movie, I'd be walking around and behind me would be this pink sparkly trail that floats along in the air, representing the scent I leave behind.

I want smell like gentle breezes and bicycle rides down sloping hills and fluffy clouds and summer rain and cupcakes and sprinkles and all that jazz. So I'm considering Miss Dior Cherie, Mediterranean by Elizabeth Arden, Missoni Acqua or Envy Me by Gucci. Are any of you familiar with these fragrances? If so, do tell me your thoughts. And if you dont, please recommend, I dont want to wander around some perfume shop without any ideas. I'd be too intoxicated with the lovely fumes to be capable of thinking straight.

Half the appeal of perfume (for me) is the bottle. If I could buy any perfume on the basis of its bottle, it'd probably go for:

Fancy by Jessica Simpson, Miss Dior Cherie, that Christina Aguilera perfune (not sure what it's called)

Flowerbomb by Viktor & Rolf, Chloe and Lovely by SJP

Miss Dior Cherie ticks both boxes in terms of smell and bottle, so it's on top of my list.
