London Fashion Week

I'm in a fantastique mood at the moment- so I'm going to get as much blogging done as possible. This week: London fashion week. Here are my faves of the week:

Charles Anastase: geek-meets-punk-rocker, am loving the spiky boots and leather jackets with the blazers and high waisted skirts.

Issa: vivid colours and beautifully draped dresses, I like the cinched waists.

Jaeger: spectacular prints and textures, I particularly like that first outfit.

Louisa Goldin: the models remind me of me when my bangs grow a tad too long. Am liking the funky necklines and exposed shoulders.

Luella: Really liking the combination of black fabric and gold zippers/studs at the moment.

Nathan Jenden: Wonderful poofy skirts and blazers, am going to wear something like these someday.

Twenty8Twelve: love the casualness of all the looks, the black vests and leather jackets are hot, cut-outs seem to be making a comeback by the looks of the latest collections, and that double buckle belt is love.

Vivienne Westwood Red Label: the scarlet (orange?) coat is HOT, my own scarlet coat is about to blow off its buttons with jealousy.

That's all for this week, darhhlings. Next week: Milan! I love the European fashion weeks.

This Is Not Teacup

As the title and the by-line suggests, I am not Teacup. I am the one and only Juicebox. I just needed to reinforce this, to show you my dedication to this lovely website.

Not only do I have tutor to attend today, but I also have to hack away at my 400-and-something essay so that I can fit it on one single A4 page, then write the essay over and over again until it is tattooed onto my brain. But wait! I am not finished. I still have to annotate two of my texts, then do the colossal mound that is my science homework.

And because I love this damn website oh so much, I will not blackmail Teacup into writing a post under my name. No, I am writing it myself, right now. And do excuse me if my writing starts to sound (look?) a bit like Teacup's, her constant rambling on MSN has finally driven me insane. To the point that I start to sound like her. But I assure you, I am Juicebox!

Have I ever mentioned how looooovely Teacup is? She is so lovely that she deserves to win a Nobel prize for loveliness. Of course, there is no Nobel prize for loveliness yet, which is why they must invent one just for Teacup to win, because the constant loveliness-radiation emitting out of her is so lovely.

I am lovely too, of course, but my loveliness is incomparable to Teacup's.

Anywhos, although I believe that Teacup's loveliness is a subject that will never bore your ears, no matter how boring it may be, I must bid you adieu and return to my eternally growing list of responsibilities.

XOXO, JUICEBOX (yes, Juicebox, not Teacup.)

Imagining perfect lovermen: The other day, some of the girls and I got together to describe each other's imaginary perfect lovers. Extremely fun, passes time well, HILARIOUS, and highly recommended. My perfect man, according to Van & Juicebox:
Must be hilarious, musical and/or creative in other ways, able to appreciate beautiful things, a good dresser, smells delectable, has adorable eyes so we can have adorable children with adorable eyes, light skin tone, intelligent but not in the bookish way; but rather culturally aware and witty, easily humoured, has a big smile with bright eyes that sparkle when they fall upon something fascinating (like his lover, i.e. MOI), big warm hands to hold in winter a must.
Those shoes from the latest 3.1 Phillip Lam collection: A wonderful combination of super-hardcore-motorbike-chic and feminine-girlie-lacy-primness. I want them soo bad.

SJP's Dior Couture Dress: she wore this to the the Oscars yesterday. It's so floaty and fairytale-esque, the PERFECT shade of mint, and OMG at all that tulle. Plus the beaded detail on the bustier is immaculate, and I've always had a thing for belted-cinched-waists, so extra points to this dress from me.

Fond Childhood Memories: silly thoughts and concepts, ridiculous plans that never worked out, the eagerness to learn, even though we all thought we knew everything, being able to do comical things for the sake of it, childhood crushes, endless possibilities and limitless dreams. For my 16th this year, I'm making the girls come over to relive our childhoods by forcing them to watch the Disney classics, like Dumbo, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty. I was going to get them to come dressed up as birds as well, but I thought that might've been going too far. I'm excited!

Crossing things off my to do list: anyone who has any classes with me would know that I carry around a huge blue diary resembling a bible. But rest assured that it is not a bible. Nope, it's just filled, with to do lists for every single day. I write down everything: when I need to blog, when I should go buy those pair of shoes I've been looking for, when I should watch Gossip Girl, when my favourite designers are showing at Fashion Week, and homework (of course). Being able to cross off things (especially the homework) has a profound calming effect on me.

New York Fashion Week

The things I do when I’m supposed to be homeworking:

Abaeté: Simplistic yet stylish. I like.

Elise Øverland: Yay to shiny shimmery material. Disco balls, anyone?

Erin Fetherston: The collection of little toy soldiers, I call this. And see that third dress right there? That’s right, that’s going to be my cruise dress.

Jill Stuart: Like Teacup said, I only had to see the first picture to know I’d love this collection.

Marchesa: Every season, I anticipate Marchesa’s collection, and not once has it ceased to take my breath away. Very dreamy and fantastical, in typical Marchesa style.

Preen: There was once a time I never liked cut-outs, but that’s no longer. It all changed once I saw that second dress.

Rodarte: Don’t they all look like they’re made from a collation of lolly wrappers? That doesn’t sound very appealing, but oh, this collection is.

Zac Posen: Love the skirts. And the rest of the dresses too, of course, but LOVE THE SKIRTS!

New York Fashion Week is coming to an end. Endings are not always a good thing, and in this case, it certainly isn’t. But there’s always next week’s London Fashion Week, where earmuffed will again be here to dazzle you with even more pretty outfits. Stay tuned.

Birthday Wishlist

I know that I can't afford anything on my wishlist, and I highly doubt anyone I know could afford the items on my wishlist either, but I'm a greedy little biatch, so here goes:

1. A pink flamingo. It must know how to play the bongos, and I want it to come with a sleigh so it can carry my textbooks around.
2. A white Chanel 2.55.
3. Sass & Bide rats
4. Those hot shoes from Balmain's Spring/Summer 09 collection
5. Miu Miu buckle boots. Winter is coming, and my feet must stay warm.
6. The Bag Ladies tote
7. Louboutin boots. Again, they are for the sake of my feet's warmth.
8. Dallas Vintage telephone bag. Bonus points for anyone who can make the bag an actual phone. As in, it rings and I can call people, and such. Use your magical wands people. I want a WORKING TELEPHONE BAG.
9. Myla Suki balconette bra + briefs. They are so yummy.
10. Diane von Furstenburg LBD
11. Chloe lace up boots.
12. Elle Macpherson Artistry bra + briefs. Have been eyeing these for a while, but I can't seem to find them anywhere.
13. Beyond The Valley bike pendant
14. Black sequinned Chuck Taylors. Again, I've been hunting for these for a while, but my hunting skills aren't very good at all. If anyone sees them anywhere, INFORM ME IMMEDIATELY.

I think I was destined to be bankrupt. My flow of cash coming in, and cash I spend is imbalanced. Even I know enough maths to figure this out.

So lets stop thinking material things, here's a list of warm fuzzy FREE things I would also like:
Love,FANCIFUL.TUMBLR.COM I have a huge chunky folder of photos from fashion editorials I really like, so I decided to chuck them in there. They're mostly fairy-tale themed, or other bizarre/surreal/sometimes violent things, so yes. Just go on it and you'll see what I mean.
