My Something

YOOHOOOOOO, yes, I'm alive; barely. Well I feel physically dead, but I havent felt so mentally alive in... since I last posted. I'm just thankful I still have like... LOL EIGHTY PEOPLE VISITING MY BLOG EVERYDAY? Yeah thanks, you're really persistent. You know how they say insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting different results, right? Well your temporary insanity has been rewarded, I'm back. For now. I might randomly disappear again BUT if you're really clever and observant, you might notice that I, in fact, have not disappeared at all. No, I've probably made up for my lack of posting on this blog by tweeting triple the amount on twitter. If you missed out, story of my life in the past 3 weeks:
  • I discovered V, drank 500 cans of it, realise I was addicted, tried to get over it, am now dead to the world as a result of caffeine-withdrawal
  • I increased my writing speed to like 2300 words per hour or something, and damaged my knuckle in the process (I think I did. Well it still hurts, I'm going to see a doctor about it tomorrow)
  • I wasted over 100 sheets of paper practicing for essays (I kind of regret choosing all the subjects that require essays now). I'm trying to figure out what to do with all the paper, burning it/making confetti would give the greatest amount of joy but it seems kind of wasteful. I'm thinking of making a pinata duck, and building on to it as the HSC continues, then bashing the duck at the end of it all. Actually maybe not a duck. I do not believe in animal- whether living or paper- cruelty. Maybe I'll make a sculpture of the principal. NO, I KID, I KID, human cruelty is only slightly more forgivable than animal cruelty.
Okay yeah thats basically it. Dull, I know, not good advertisement for my twitter at all. Dont worry guys, when I'm not in exam mode, I usually tweet about relatively interesting things, I think.

So anyways, since the exams finished (approximately... 7 hours ago...), I've celebrated by blowing the rest of my money on pretty dresses and gorged myself on Subway veggie patties and mi goreng and jelly joy and watched Breakfast at Tiffany's and cleaned my room AND TONIGHT, I'll be sleeping with Thackeray's Vanity Fair. YES.

I'm pretty tired of words at the moment (take 6 essays and 2 short stories and you'll be tired of words too) so I'm just going to throw a bunch of pretty pictures at you. I accumulated them when I should've been studying. WHOOPS I shouldn't have said that, now you all know how to trick me out of studying for my HSC. Just send over a catalogue of Ellen von Werth's photographs and that's study out the window for you. Okay now I'm putting ideas into your head, I'm just going to shut up now.

Milan Fashion Week

Every weekend, if I don't have any assignments or exams, my internet screws up so I cant blog. And blogging on weekdays is kind of out of question now. Well actually no not exactly, I suppose I could blog on weekdays if I wasn't taking naps or baking macaroons, but macaroons and naps trump blogging at the moment, sorry. So you may have noticed, yes I did snob London Fashion Week again. It wasn't that great, even Burberry wasn't that great, so no London FW for you.

Yes so anyway, Milan Fashion Week wasn't that great either. Maybe I'm growing old fashioned already. Maybe my taste in fashion has already peaked and now I'm out of date and everything looks too hip and gross to me. Wait, I thought the recent Dior show was excellent, but that's Paris, which is a different story. Paris is always excellent. Okay I'm rambling, PICTURE TIME.

OH WAIT, I just thought I'd let you guys know, remember how last time the pictures were tiny? Well you may have not noticed but it annoyed me because you couldnt see all the detail that was important. So one day a lightbulb flicked on over my head and I realised, models are really skinny. Like, really really skinny. So skinny that they only take up a third of the images width-wise, and all that free space on the side was such a waste. So guess what, I cropped it all off and now you can see all the images humongously, yay.

Albino: yay bring on the peter pan collars and bow neck ties and fluffy skirts, I want one.

D&G: amazingly adorable collection, I liked the juxtaposition of the heavy, chunky knits with the flowy printed chiffon, and the reindeer jumper, and the pussybow blouses, and especially the stampede of models in sheer, frothy white chiffon gowns for the finale.

Dsquared: Always one of the highlights of Milan. This season they took the label's usual empowering, overtly sexy character, threw her back into old Hollywood, and ended up with the classic femme fatale. My favourite piece was the leather dress with the jewelled claws on the shoulders (top right), but I also loved the random splashes of red, the thigh high boots, the blood red lips and cat eyes.

Luisa Beccaria: I am soooooo in the coat-mood at the moment. The steely blue coats with huge collars and ruffles are delicious, so is that red velvet dress.

Salvatore Ferragamo: I can't get over the contrast between the feminine pussybow blouses and the masculine tailoring, I'm going to have to try that sometime. The evening dresses were also lovely.

Hmm I think I lost the photos for the Dolce & Gabbana and the Moschino shows somewhere in my overflowing fashion week folder. Whoops. They were really good, I remember Moschino had the iconic trimmed tweed jacket, except it was trimmed with a row of gold studs, IT WAS SO GOOD. Yeah head of to style.com and look at it.
